History
The cornerstone for the Mt.Calvary United Church of Christ was laid in 1851 to house both the German Reformed and the Evangelical Lutheran. The property was donated by Philip Sheetz who was a Lutheran and his wife, a German Reformed; the reason for the two denominations. Prior to the completion of the church building a meeting was held to name it Mount Calvary Church. A service of dedication was held upon completion onWhit Sunday, June 4, 1854. Each denomination held worship service two Sundays each month. Sunday School was held jointly each Sunday. The present church is located on the same ground. The cornerstone for this building was laid in 1913. A social hall, kitchen, and classrooms were added in 1962. The church building is now the Mt.
